I recently got to visit this amazing peonies farm. The grower strictly sells only to the Floral District in NYC. This farm is one of the many reasons why we need to support the Floral District in NY. The Floral District in NYC supports local farms and farm workers in the tri-state region, and also workers of many kinds here in the city. This is critical to the NY economy. Sixty years ago there were thousands of farms all across NY, NJ and CT, and the NYC Floral District benefitted with locally grown flowers at affordable prices. Ask your Florist to buy flowers, whenever possible, that are locally grown in our region or in the U.S. Let's support regional agriculture, the Floral District, and the thousands of businesses that depend on both.
